Speedway Challenge

I had no idea how much Patrick really wanted to be a race car driver. I just thought stock cars were his hobby and even though I didn’t understand it at first, I’m starting to enjoy racing too.  I think it’s Patrick’s enthusiasm for the sport that makes me excited, and I’m trying to learn as much as I can to compete with him.  When I suggested we go to one of those simulated race tracks, Patrick jumped at the challenge.  He promised to go easy on me, but I can’t wait to see the look on his face when I beat the pants off him.

I don't like racing, but I love hockey, so I understand how easy it is to get caught up in that type of atmosphere. I'm glad you gave it a chance, and that you're having fun with it. Seeing things through someone else's eyes can give you a whole new appreciation for them. Maybe now Patrick will give opera a chance. It was nice to see you two happy again and having fun, you deserve that after all the hours you've been working. I have no doubt you can beat Patrick, but the most important thing is that you guys have fun doing something together.

I am glad that you are starting to take an interest in Patrick's hobbies. This should show him how much you love him. This relationship is about the two of you and not just about you.
