Family Ties

I had no idea my dad was going to show up for my wedding.  The last thing I wanted was for him to jeopardize his health, so I never expected him to travel all the way from Europe just to see me.  I love my dad, and there’s no greater gift he can give me than to walk me down the aisle.  I’m really looking forward to sharing my wedding day with both of my parents.  Nothing would mean more to me than to have their support on the most important day of my life.  Now that I’m a parent, I understand and appreciate the sacrifices they made to give me a better life.  We may not have always been the most conventional family in the world, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Robin, it's going to be so wonderful to have Anna, Robert, and Mac all there when you and Patrick exchange vows. And oh, Robert has finally had the chance to hold Emma. Your wedding will be wonderful, I know and very much a family affair for all of you. I can't wait to see you and Patrick become husband and wife surrounded by family and friends! Congratulations to the Scorpio Drake family!

So very happy for you that both your parents are there to share your beautiful, awesome wedding day with you. Also, that Patrick's brother, Matt, is going to be his best man. What a truly amazing "family affair" wedding! My friends and I love all of you, so we are counting the days. Thank you for adding to our Christmas Joy... Merry Christmas to ALL of you... God Bless... Enjoy!!!

Nice thoughts and I am thrilled that both your parents will be there for your wedding day.

So, you didn't understand and appreciate until you became a mother the sacrifices that your parents made for you? New parents annoy the heck out of me. That isn't a great revelation. It just means you were a self-centered pain who thought the world revolved around her.

Robert wouldn't have come if he wasn't in remission. He's taking it one day at a time and enjoying life, perhaps for the first time. Anna and Robert will always have regrets for not being there for you and 'dumping' you with Mac, but the three of you found a way to work through the pain for a new relationship and a second chance something Maxie will never get and Georgie could have only wished for.

A parent's love is the greatest, for no matter what obstacles are in our way, we will get to our children to support them on a sad day or a happy day. I wish you nothing but happiness, you deserve it!

Having your dad walk you down the aisle is a great blessing. Too bad Noah can't come home for the wedding as well. I know that he and Patrick are not getting along right now but no matter how angry or hurt Patrick is, he loves his dad.

When you think back to the times that you thought your parents were dead, today's reality must seem so surreal. And magical. And wonderful. And blessed. You are so fortunate to be given this gift of your parents with you at these milestone moments. It's beautiful.
